The Lion King tells the story of Simba, a young lion, who was to succeed after his father, King Mufasa, but with unfortunate events unfolding, was forced to flee into exile. Simbaâs growth told the rest of the story, learning about his environment, finding love, and returning to his rightful kingdom. With the great success of this fantastic movie, it is not that surprising that Disney released this unique The Lion King Collectors DVD Gift Set. To further enjoy the movie experience, we have prepared a few items that will make you feel warm and cozy while getting fully immersed with the breathtaking animation of the safari and all sorts of unique animals.
This collectorâs gift set was first released in October of 2003. It was part of a 3-series DVD collector set released by Disney. The other two were the Aladdin Collectorâs DVD Gift Set, released in October 2004, and the Cinderella Collectorâs DVD Gift Set, released in October 2005. It came in a black box sleeve with tribal patterns and the lion logo at the front of the box in a metallic gold finish. There are three contents in the box that we will discuss in full detail.
The first item is The Lion King Platinum Edition 2-disc DVD Special Edition Set, which has a beautiful cover animation in front as well as content information at the back, all of which are printed in a metallic finish. The sleeve contains a foldable cover that features a detailed summary of the contents from disc one and disc 2, the best way to jump-start your excitement as well as your expectations from the DVD set. Opening the disc cover itself, you will find disc 1 with an aminated background of the safari sunrise, as well as a few coupons and inserts. Disc 2 is located on the other side of the disc holder, which features a nighttime animation with a silhouette of Rafiki. All the contents are amazingly detailed in concept art, with notes from the filmmakers on making the movieâs inspiration and development.
